Biennial budget
The City of Janesville operates on a two-year (biennial) budget cycle. The adopted budget is available for public review on the City website and at the Hedberg Public Library. The interactive Open Budget portal at budget.ci.janesville.wi.us provides searchable revenue and expenditure data.
Financial reports
Annual financial reports, audit results, and the Comprehensive Annual Financial Report (CAFR) are published on the City website. The City has received the Government Finance Officers Association (GFOA) Certificate of Achievement for Excellence in Financial Reporting.
Open Budget portal
The interactive Open Budget portal allows residents to explore city revenues, expenditures, and fund balances by department, category, and fiscal year. The portal is updated regularly with current financial data.
