Neighborhood and Community Services coordinates programs and services that support neighborhood quality, housing stability, and mobility for Janesville residents. The department includes the Janesville Transit System, Housing Services, and Community Development divisions.
Janesville Transit System (JTS)
JTS operates 6 fixed routes serving neighborhoods, shopping centers, employment hubs, Blackhawk Technical College, and the Transit Center. The Beloit Express connects Janesville to Beloit. Route maps and schedules are available on the City website and at the Transit Center.
Housing services
The Housing Services division administers federal and state housing programs to support affordable housing, homeownership, and rental assistance for qualifying Janesville residents. Programs include Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) funded activities.
Revive and Thrive
Revive and Thrive is Janesville's neighborhood improvement program, providing resources and support for targeted neighborhoods to improve property conditions, strengthen community connections, and enhance neighborhood quality of life.
