Boards and commissions

City Council

The seven-member City Council serves as the governing body for the City of Janesville. The Council sets policy, adopts the budget, and appoints the City Manager. Council members are elected at-large to staggered terms.

Plan Commission

Reviews zoning applications, subdivision plats, site plans, and comprehensive plan amendments. Meets the second Monday of each month at 5:30 PM.

Parks Advisory Committee

Advises on park planning, facility improvements, programming, and trail development. Meets the third Wednesday of each month at 5:00 PM.

Transit Advisory Committee

Reviews JTS ridership, route performance, fare policies, and service improvements. Meets quarterly at the Transit Center.

Board of Review

Hears property assessment objections annually in May.

Alcohol Licensing Committee

Reviews liquor license applications and renewals. Meets as needed.
